Extrusion Blow Molding Process:

1. Plastic Extrusion & Parison Formation:

Plastic resin (usually HDPE or PP) in pellet form is fed into the blow molding machine’s hopper. The pellets are heated and melted in an extruder barrel.

The molten plastic is forced through a die head, forming a continuous, hollow tube called a parison.

2. Mold Clamping:

A two-part mold, machined with the precise shape of the bottle (including handle details if needed), closes around the hanging parison.

3. Blowing & Inflation:

A blow pin is inserted into the neck of the parison. High-pressure air is blown through this pin, inflating the soft parison like a balloon until it presses firmly against the cold inner walls of the mold.

4. Cooling & Ejection:

The plastic is allowed to cool and solidify in the mold, often assisted by internal water channels. The mold opens, and the finished bottle is ejected.

The excess plastic at the top and bottom (called flash) is trimmed off in a separate station or within the mold.
