The blow molding machine works by melting plastic resin (most commonly HDPE – High-Density Polyethylene for its strength and chemical resistance) and extruding it downward as a hollow tube called a parison. This hot parison is then captured between two massive, heavy mold halves that close tightly around it. High-pressure air is injected, inflating the parison to perfectly conform to the cooled mold cavity, which defines the tank’s shape, including features like flat bases, bung holes, handles, and reinforcing ribs.
